CALLING ALL FRANCOPHONE THEATRE CREATORS!
Are you a Francophone theatre creator? Do you have a 60-minute French-language play or musical that you’d like to share with audiences in the Hamilton region? Looking for a more affordable way to self-produce and reach a larger audience? Hamilton Fringe Festival is now accepting applications for the new FrancoFringe category, to be presented at the 2025 Hamilton Fringe happening July 16-27, 2025.

Hamilton Fringe Festival is the city’s biggest, boldest 12-day arts festival, lighting up indoor and outdoor spaces across town with live comedy, plays, music, dance, art, film, family fare, and more. Each July we welcome 50+ companies from all over the world as they present 350+ performances for audiences totalling nearly 20,000 people.
Like other members of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF), Hamilton Fringe uses a lottery system to ensure fairness and to create an equitable opportunity for anyone to participate. We don’t curate which shows get into the festival – the content of your show is totally up to you! Just apply online using the link below before January 22, 2025. On January 24, 2025, we randomly draw companies to fill all the available spots. A waitlist is created for those not initially selected.
If your show is drawn in the lottery:
● You keep 100% of your ticket revenue
● Hamilton Fringe handles all front-of-house management, ticketing, and box office staff
● Hamilton Fringe schedules you for seven (7) shows at an indoor venue equipped with lights and sound and staffed by a trained technician.
● Your show is included in all Hamilton Fringe publicity including website, printed program, and overall event publicity.
